What you need to know

The RAF offers lots of opportunities to shape your career. All RAF Regular and Reserve personnel are eligible.

Whatever your Branch or Trade, you can work your way up through the ranks, gaining the unique experience and skills that come with the structure of an RAF career.  As your circumstances change, there are options to significantly change your career direction by transferring from your current engagement.

Subject to Service need, there are several opportunities to change what you do:

  • transfer to another Profession, Branch, Trade or Specialisation
  • transfer between Regular and Reserve service
  • transfer to another Service within the Armed Forces

Eligibility requirements for different career moves may be complex, so you should ask your Career Manager if you would like more information.

The Royal Navy gives you the opportunity to shape your career. All Royal Navy personnel, both Regular and Reserve are eligible.

With hard work and dedication, you can start working your way through the ranks, gaining the unique experience and skills that come with the structure of a Royal Navy career.
