What you need to know
The Armed Forces Pension Calculator pension calculator is a free online tool that you can use to get both a pension projection and an Early Departure Payment figure, based on your personal details.
The calculator is designed to be used by all servicemen and women and Military Provost Guard Service staff, including those with Transitional Protection. The calculations provided are for guidance purposes only and are not intended to provide you with financial advice.
It is important that you have read and understood the following JSPs before proceeding:
- JSP 854 Armed Forces Pension Scheme 1975
- JSP 764 The Armed Forces Pension Scheme 2005 (AFPS 05)
- JSP 905 Armed Forces Pension Scheme 2015 and Early Departure Payments Scheme 2015
What you need to do
To use the Pension Calculator, you’ll need to provide the following information:
- service
- engagement type
- rank
- date of birth
- date of Entry or Enlistment
- anticipated date of leaving Service
- which pension scheme you’re a member of
- any breaks in Service
- any periods of flexible Service
- anticipated rank on leaving Service
- if you were commissioned from the ranks
- pay table for the anticipated leaving rank
- anticipated Increment Level when leaving service
- if you’ll be leaving on Premature Voluntary Retirement terms
