The Army Families Federation (AFF) is an independent charity who work to improve the quality of life of Army families around the world.
Their role is to highlight the problems that Army families face and bring them to the attention of chain of command, policy makers and service providers, working alongside them to improve the support available to Service people and their families.
This benefit is available to:
- spouses and partners of regular service personnel, including Military Provost Guard Service
- bereaved spouses and partners
- dependants of service personnel
- spouses and partners of Reservists
AFF can help with problems related to:
- housing
- health and additional needs
- education and childcare
- reserves
- deployments
- money matters
- employment and training
- family life
- immigration advice for Non-British Nationals
- transition
- relationship breakdown
The RAF Families Federation is an independent organisation which gathers feedback from RAF families about their ‘lived experience' to highlight the issues that they face and bring them to the attention of the Chain of Command and service providers.
This benefit is available to:
- spouses and partners of serving RAF Regular or Reserve personnel, including Military Provost Guard Service
- parents and wider family members of serving RAF personnel
In particular they:
- advocate on behalf of RAF families whose circumstances sit out with existing policy inform Government, Local Authorities, MOD, employers, and Chain of Command on family issues
- inform service providers (e.g. Amey, Department for Education, Armed Forces Covenant) on family issues
- develop tailored resources to support families based on their feedback
- inform policy makers on behalf of families
- provide information to de-mystify the system via social media, newsletters, and magazines
- signpost to appropriate organisations/resources
The main topics that the RAF Families Federation can assist with are:

- health and wellbeing
- family life and relationships
The Naval Families Federation is an independent organisation that gathers feedback from families about their ‘lived experience' to highlight the issues that Service families face and bring them to the attention of the Chain of Command and service providers.
They represent your views at different levels:
- advocate on behalf of families whose circumstances sit outwith existing policy
- inform Government, Local Authorities, MOD, employers, and Chain of Command on family views
- inform service providers (e.g. Amey, DfE, Armed Forces Covenant) on family views
- develop tailored resources to support families as a result of their feedback
- inform policy makers on behalf of families
- provide information to de-mystify the system via social media, newsletters and Homeport magazine
- signpost to appropriate organisations/resources
The Naval Families Federation (NFF) is set up to support:
- Serving Regular or Reservist Royal Navy/ Royal Marines personnel, including Military Provost Guard Service, and their spouses/ partners
- parents and wider family members of serving Royal Navy/Royal Marines personnel
The main topics that the Naval Families Federation can assist with are:
