What you need to know
Your Commanding Officer can authorise up to four weeks of Compassionate Leave, although two weeks is normally sufficient. Only in exceptional circumstances and following a re-evaluation of the situation should Compassionate Leave exceed 4 weeks.
It is important that you have read and understood JSP 760 - Tri-Service Regulations for Leave and Other Types of Absences before proceeding.
You are expected to resolve your personal affairs within a reasonable timeframe. Ongoing issues should be addressed by seeking alternative courses of action through your Chain of Command.
What you need to do
To claim compassionate leave you will need to speak to your Line Manager, Unit HR Admin or Personnel Office.
